And, thinking of a title for this blog post, that song just
came to me...and got stuck in my head...
and now I can't get rid of it! (You're welcome! ;)

And it was just to describe the cool thing (things, actually)
that Mr. B had in his stash
and I "glommed onto"...he kindly let me have them, though...

They are an antique set of letters and numbers, originally leatherworking
tools, but I'm going to try them out on a new polymer clay project tomorrow...

The little holder shows its age...beautifully! ~
I didn't photograph the set of numbers,
but they are in a little wooden holder like this, only about 2" x 2"...

Photobucket

They are quite a bit larger than the modern metal set I have,
 although I imagine you can
get new ones in just about any size, now...

Here is Leo, like a dragon, guarding them for me...
(what would I do without kitty-help?)
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
Hopefully I will be polymer-claying...

  5. Hello Anne, thanks for stopping by my blog. Feel free to use the Angel. I love Mr. Leo I had a Lana Turner for many years through my youth and into college who could be his twin. A green eye and blue eye. Although she was deaf she was very smart - I would turn on a light and she would come immediately. Love your letters. I have a few set. Mine came with oil on them - they were for metal. I take a cotton rag and wipe them good before I use them. I cant wait to see what you do with them.

Oh I am so excited. I can't wait to see your project using palmer clay with these wonderful letter presses. How fun. I too have a new set, but have never seen one inside of a wooden box. Cool beans.

Love that Leo is so protective of them. I have a few things that need protecting from the grands, does he hire out?

You blog is a delight! I am so glad that you found me so I could find you!

I am dying over the metal letters...I am taking a class at Jean Oliver's. She is using them with leather. I will be watching for your technique with polymer!

  20. Anne,
Thank you for your visit and comment. I chuckled at your stamps. I have the same exact set with the numbers in a separate wooden mitered box and the copper headed hammer to pound with. I have yet to use them, so perhaps I can pick up some inspiration from you.
