It is CHILLY in Southeast Missouri today (quite an admission from someone who wears sandals all year...and doesn't own a coat!)...it's supposed to be in the twenties in the morning...I wish we could at least have a little snow, if it has to be this cold! It just rarely snows here anymore; however, 3 years ago we had a major ice storm (which affected most of the mid-south) and had no power for 10 days...I guess I'd better be careful what I wish for...:)
I titled this post "Wish-for-Spring Wednesday", and so it is...the photos I've posted today (from Spring 2011) are beautiful flowering quince (love the coral-y warm color!) and some "super-springy" daffodils and lovely peach-cupped narcissus blossoms in an 1860s Romantic Tranferware pitcher...again, there's that lace I love to paint!
Hope everyone has had a wonderful Wednesday!
♥ Anne
My goodness Anne I had barely.... like within seconds put up my dessert post and you had commented on it. Wow..I didn't realize it went out that fast. I hadn't even re edited it yet. THANKYOU for commenting. You always make me feel so good. And I do hope your husband makes it. It is Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteHey I wish it were spring here too. The skies are blue but it was in the mid 30's today. Last year we had constant blizzards. I LOVE your blue transferware. I have a bunch of it too. It is always just so fresh and clean looking and you can put it with just about any color.
Thanks again Anne,
Nann
Wonderful to see a little spring bloom! I have a bit of spring fever myself. Can't come soon enough!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blog you have Anne! It is wonderful seeing the lovely daffs and makes me whine for springtime.
ReplyDeleteI laughed when I read that you wear sandals year round...I do that too! Sun, rain or snow.
Thank you so much for your sweet note!
I love your still life photograph. The antique transferware pitcher is beautiful filled with the spring flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love quince and have a wee sprig of it from my mother's plant. It's so small that I'm just hoping it makes it through winter. Thankfully, it's been a mild one.
