Two years ago today I lost nine of my best friends, all at once...(there was a fire...) I don't want this post to be sad, though ~ rather a celebration of how beautiful ~ and loving ~ they all were
~ and still are.
Tibbs, our oldest ~ he was almost 18. Such a good old fellow!
Artie ~ what a ham! I tried not to have favorites, but Artie was pretty much my "main man"...♥
Indie ~ a rescue, she was always shy ~ but such a sweet girl!
Isabella ~ "Bella" ~ my big, huggy Ragdoll...such a diva!
Sophie...Such a good little girl! She loved to make "nests", if she could get toilet paper or a roll of paper towels...so funny ~ :)
Freddie Mercury ~ (Guess where he got his name?) ~ Beautiful boy...
Muppet ~ another rescue, but definitely not shy...what a character!
Greta Pat-Pat (my very first kitten, a little black one, was "Pat-Pat", so Greta got a middle name...)
Lily Scarlett...my sweet little girl...♥
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Artie was really little when we got him, and he had a "thing" about earlobes...here he is attached to Jonathan's...;) ~ they would sleep like that.
Muppet was a riot!
Indie & Sophie, Best Friends...♥
Lily Scarlett in the sun...
Sophie & Tibbs, contentedly bird-watching...♥
It took a while before I even wanted another cat ~ or cats ~ I was actually nervous about getting Leo!
I miss my Angel Kitties every day, but I know they are on the other side of that Rainbow Bridge, waiting.
In the meantime, I have nine little Muses watching over me, hopefully nudging me to be creative ~ while I watch the antics ~ and enjoy the companionship ~ of Leo, Cyrus, and Tallulah.

That is so sad Anne! They all look like such beautiful cats! So sorry for your loss...losing pets is so hard! Angie xo
ReplyDeleteOh, this just breaks my heart...I am so sorry for this immense loss. Your kitties were all adorable, but I am partial to Ragdolls. We lost our ragdoll at Christmas because of kidney failure. Your photos are wonderful~
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry for your loss Anne, this must have been a sad post to write, but with many happy memories.x
ReplyDeleteDear Anne,
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry that you lost these little loves. What beautiful photographs you have taken of them! They all look to be such characters with so much love. I know this must have been hard to write. Thank you for sharing it.
Oh what gorgeous Kittys all of them.So sorry to hear you lost them all.Blessings to you and Im sure they are running and playing happily over the bridge.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so beautiful. And they are all having a great time as they watch over you. Such a sad but sweet post.
ReplyDeleteHi Anne,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by and so nice to meet you hear in blogland.
Your pics are gorgeous, and I am so sorry about your loss of all those beautiful kitties. I can't imagine how hard that must have been to lose all of them at once, but glad you have some more sweeties to love.
It was a lovely post.
Look forward to us visiting each other more.
Blessings hon, Nellie
What adorable kitty friends!! I know you miss them, but would love to see pictures of the new ones! (I perused through your blog, so might have missed that!) I was mesmerized by your lovely photography! The note cards are beautiful! Way outside my talent scope!! I'm going to guess that you were born in the fall of 1957. I was born December 6, 1957, so we shared the same first Christmas! Loved your old photos! I'm now a follower and excited to get to know you better!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Anne, you had me at fur...love your blog name, for sure!! I am a proud follower...I also have a second blog that my cats handle that can be found here:

So very nice to meet you and the Angels!
Sandi
When I saw the name of your blog I just had to check you out, as a dog groomer with a salon in my home, there is always hair in my paint, as I paint furniture for the antique shop...what a tragedy, so devistating to an animal lover.
ReplyDeleteMy Cairn terrier will not allow a cat in the house(or anywhere to be sure)but she's 12 years old now, so my replacement when the day comes will be two shelter cats...I miss them so.
Time does heal all wounds! It was an honor to be in their lives!
They are beautifully remembered...forever in your heart.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo's and precious memories. Through the years all of my cats have been strays. Currently done to four at the moment. I lost Samantha in Colorado on a vacation trip, she got loose and was never found, she was my lap kitty. These little furry friends bring so much love into out lives, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteConnie
OH MY GOSH, Anne! I cannot imagine that happening. How horrible! I'm sure your grief went deeper than we will ever know.
ReplyDeleteI think those babies are beyond The Rainbow Bridge waiting for you, too! Blessings for your heart- xo Diana
Oh I was sad to hear that they were all lost in a fire.... ohmygoodness how did you get through that!
ReplyDeleteBut as you say, I'm so glad you anticipate a purry reunion one day.
Thank you for sharing photos of your beautiful furry loved ones.
I had four at one time and each in their turn got to the place where they had to leave their bodies behind.
Miss Kitty was our last one... she left us last April 30. I still miss her a lot, but not in a sad way anymore.
Wishing you wonderful times with your Leo!
Huggles..........
Oh, Anne. I don't know if I could have handled losing my furbabies like that. They are waiting for you and I'm sure they are chasing butterflies!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you lost all 9 of them at once but I am so glad you have such beautiful pictures of them. You definitely have 9 furry little angels watching over you!
ReplyDelete~Trisha
Such beautiful cats, Anne! So sorry they were lost.:-(
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty cats, all of them, and yes, they are on the other side of Rainbow Bridge. I love that poem. I also love all the creative names. xo
ReplyDeleteSeveral years ago I lost two beloved cats within two weeks of each other, and the grief was almost unbearable, so I cannot imagine how very sad you must have been to lose so many sweet fur friends in one fell swoop. They were all just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is always so difficult...we have also been through the experience and reacted in a similar manner. I am sorry for your loss. In the end, we found a new kitty to add to the family.
ReplyDeleteIts so sad to lose a beloved pet...but nine at one time? Devastating.
ReplyDeleteWe lost our dear sweet Izzy 5 years ago. As I sit at my desk I still deeply miss that fuzzy ball of fur.
Oh Mom, this post made me tear up. I know you didn't mean for it to be sad, but it's hard not to - I think about them all of the time & miss them (especially the ones that loved me back)! I think you should add the picture of Spike - give Spike his own post! :)

Thank you for following my blog! I lost my dog a couple of years ago and don't have the heart to get another. Bless your little kitties.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Liz
I'm so sorry for your loss-they were beautiful. The photos are lovely. You have a real talent~I'm sure many talents....
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have found you...
I will have many ducks, dogs, cats, a turtle & geese waiting for me in heaven.
Blessings to you~
Debra
i could not imagine that loss. losing one pet is traumatic enough. 9 at once would be devastating. i'm so glad you are able to hold them in your heart.
ReplyDeletethank you for finding my blog and leaving a comment! really appreciate it! blessings to you and your new kitty!
Oh no! I'm so sorry! We have 6 pets in our home 4 cats and 2 dogs and I cant imagine losing them all, and at once :( I'm so glad that you chose to bring in more friends, your babies that you are missing are most definitely purring in happiness that you are able to open your heart to other kitties but not ever forgetting them.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos, Anne. So glad you have them.....to remember. My heart goes out to you. I cannot even bear to think of the day when I lose Honey Cat. My post today was about her. To even imagine the pain of losing all your fur angels----oh, dear God. It is unfathonable. They were all so beautiful....but I loved seeing Lily Scarlett's photo the most. Such an awesome photo. Thanks for sharing. Susan
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh....that is just so tragic and so terribly sad! :(
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful critters there were.
Hugs for your heart.
Such Beautiful Photography of all your gorgeous Fur Baby Muses! And that Blog Header is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteBlessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
I thought I would add how wonderful it is that you chose to celebrate their wonderful Lives and Memories in this Post, which is painful and yet poignant. We too lost several of our outside Fur Babies all at once when a stray dog pack terrorized our neighborhood last year. A peaceful passing is much easier to handle than a tragic one... my heart goes out to you.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Your photos are gorgeous and your kitties so personable. I am sorry for your loss but happy you have so much love in your heart for cats. I do too. I lost my buddy a few years ago. Sign on as FOLLOWER on my blog and I will follow you too.
ReplyDeleteAnne,
ReplyDeleteIt's so tragic that you lost your cats to a fire. It sounds like they all had their own particular personalities and were loved very much.
I love the title of your blog, by the way. Thank you so much for visiting mine.
-Karen
What more could I add to these comments. Nothing much except that the sadness perhaps is receding now two years down the track, and you are able to remember your unique friends with a little less sorrow, and more joy, I hope.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet post and such beautiful kitties!!!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you have a 'little fur' in your paint! sandie
ReplyDeleteHow very sad, it must have been so painful to lose all your cats all at once. Fire is so frightening.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to these lovely creatures.
ReplyDeleteThey will wait over the rainbow bridge for you.
Hi Anne,
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. That is a pretty devastating loss to recover from. I can only imagine the pain. Is Leo your only cat now? He's such a handsome fella!
Sharon
Oh, how very sad, I'm so sorry for your loss. What beautiful kitties, and sweet memories of each of them. Thank you for sharing a part of them with us.
ReplyDeleteHow dreadful this must have been for you. I am so sorry for your loss. This was my first visit to your blog, but I will be back. You have a gentle soul and it is a pleasure to spend time here. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteI can tell how much you love them just looking at teh photos. Your little Sophie looks a great deal like my Fioré. Say, have you ever met The Crazy Cat Lady? I must tell her about you (and scroll back through your comments just to see if she's already found you).
ReplyDeleteShe's found you! =D
ReplyDeleteCat lovers always do find fellow cat lovers...
What a sweet tribute to your angel babies. My heart goes out to you.
