Cypress Vines (& Tuberoses)...

I know, I know....more tuberoses... ;^)...

I was experimenting with taking photos tonight with only the patio light...and I just had to share them...:)

My post tonight is really about Cypress Vines, though...

Are you familiar with them? Such tough little plants; they sprout in about three days, and then they climb and climb...on anything available! Bright red is the most common (they're also called Cardinal Vine), but there are also white and bright pink varieties (you can see some pink ones in the photo above...) ~

We have them coming up EVERYWHERE...even in the joint lines in the patio concrete!

I have seeds I'd be happy to share, and if you live anywhere you don't get a frost until late fall, it's not too late to plant some this year...
Or, you could save them for next year...:)

If you'd like some, e-mail me at anne@octobermoondesigns.com ~

See you tomorrow...Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  4. I really enjoyed the photos, especially no.2 and 3. The Cypress vine certainly looks vigorous. I like its fern-like foliage.

  7. Hi Anne..
    What a beautiful vine!
I haven't heard of it before... and I'm off to send you an email too :)
Do you think that I would still have time to grow them here?

  9. The Tuberose's are lovely..I'm not a fan of vines..They are too invasive..They can be really nice away from the house in their own space.

Is the Cypress Vine invasive where it will choke out other plants . . . Very pretty flower.

I will read up on it and on you . . . Like your blog title!

  16. I was so happy to have you visit. :) I didn't plant any cardinal vines this year but wish I had. I did plant some moon flower vines and they are just getting some buds on them. I am sorry about your petunias. I love sweet little petunias but boy if you miss one day of watering them in this intense heat they lose their leaves and look awful. My Picassos are the only ones still looking decent. Love that purple with the pop of bright green on them.

  21. Hi, Thanks for stopping by and becoming a follower. I haven't been able to finish painting in my kitchen as I ran out of paint! My daughter will go to Parker and get more for me and I'll drive to Denver next week and get it. I most likely should have thinned the paint a little as it was rather thick, but I wanted to cover the doors. Good luck with your painting. Mine looks so clean and bright!♥♫

  26. Anne what lovely pictures. Who could tire of seeing your turberoses. They are gorgeous...the cypress vine - is it a perennial or does it just reseed? I don't think we have any here in Ohio.

  27. Anne, a Cypress vine is new to me, your photos are fabulous! We both have gorgeous cats, I have a ragdoll, I kind of feel like a dance Mom living vicariously through my gorgeous child LOL! There is a picture of "Billie" in today's post, so nice to meet you!!
