Suggestions Welcome!

Well folks, even though I have not been the most prolific poster lately,

I still enjoyed "A Little Fur in the Paint".

However, my photo "hosting" service, Photobucket, has decided that it must charge

almost $40 per month to restore my photos and to

continue "hosting", and that's kind of ridiculous.

And maybe Google/Blogspot isn't the best blog platform anymore, either.

So, I am open to suggestions ~ do you still blog? Read them?

Have a favorite (for the not-so-tech-savvy) platform?

Prefer just Instagram?

What are your thoughts?

(And thank you bunches to all the people who still check in on me!)

Please leave me a comment...

Thank you!

  1. Wow, that's crazy! I log into my account every day so I can read all the new posts through the reader feature. But, it has been a few years since I last blogged. I don't even remember where the photos on my blog are stored. I think it was the default with Blogger, but don't remember it being Photobucket, but it might have been. I just went into my Blogger Dashboard to check it out and under Photos, it shows I have photos, but I can't seem to access them. I know I initially had to set something up under Flikr, but can't seem to find any of the photos in that account either. So, I'm no help at all! If you have a Yahoo account, perhaps Flikr would be an alternative photo storage option? I think it is free.

I still prefer to read blogs. I don't do Instagram, FB, Pinterest, SnapChat, Twitter or any of the other social media platforms. But, I'm a dinosaur when it comes to these things! (I'm probably one of the last hold outs! :)) I know how hard and time consuming it is to create content and post regularly, every week it seems there are fewer and fewer posts coming through from the people I follow, but I very much enjoy them when they do post!

Hope to see more from you! If you do decide to switch platforms, be sure to let us know where to find you!

  2. I still blog on Blogger. Most people I know either use Blogger or Wordpress.

  3. I stopped by to visit yesterday and saw that your blog pictures had disappeared. I could not believe they were just gone! I had wanted to show my husband the fairy houses that you had made from the gourds. I had just stopped by a couple of days ago to refresh myself on ho you had made yours so I was shocked to see all of your pics gone! I don't know what the answer is for your problem. I have never used Photobucket to the best of my knowledge. I process all of my pics from my camera to my PC. I use PicMonkey to tweak the pics and now I am using PicMonkey to watermark my pics. It seems that Visual Watermark just disappeared from my computer when I was forced to change over to Windows 10 (I think that is the one I have been forced to accept). Spectrum took over as my Internet provider and now the internet speed is now as slow as dial up was years ago. Very frustrating. I am trying to figure out how to reset my blogger profile so I won't be a noreply blogger (A problem that has been going on every two or three months for years). So far no luck. I had checked on it in June or July and it was working OK but not now. By the way my email address is plumcreekplace@gmail.com - I have two blogs "Plum Creek Place" and "Little Jo's Doll Party" both are blogspot blogs. I do want to start a new blog for my fairy garden(s), maybe I will go a different route this time.

I wish I could help you but I am rather challenged and definitely not tech savvy myself. Good luck, make sure to post on how you handle this situation.... Candy

  4. oh no this is bad! I still use Blogspot but if they start to charge a huge amount I might have to think again! I have to admit I don't post or read blogs as much as I use too but try to keep it sort of up to date. I do tend to use Instagram to be honest.....a little facebook but only with family and close friends. So I would find you on Instagram if you decide to start....it is very easy to use. Let us know if you do move and where to. xxx

  5. I use blogspot and just download my pictures from my phone to my computer. Then when I need a picture I just download it from my computer to my blog. If I had to pay to blog I wouldn’t do it. I do Instagram and Facebook. I wouldn’t pay for those either! I’m not as into blogging as I was a few years ago but I think part of that is because my schedule has changed.
