We were lucky enough to see them when they transformed into chrysalises - an amazing sight. We released them back into the dill field we found them in. I figured we helped them avoid being eaten by a bird or other creature.

Your photos are gorgeous. Thanks for such warm memories and beautiful photos to start my day. I'll have to go out and see if I can spot some of these, I always thought since they looked so much alike, they were Viceroy caterpillars! I look forward to more pictures!Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03748075364992710186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5952978843847671434.post-6848965331782412732015-08-09T10:36:07.311-05:002015-08-09T10:36:07.311-05:00Great photography Anne. We see so few Monarch's and I'm always thrilled to even see one! I planted milkweed last year, and it's not done so well, but I'll keep trying. ~Kim at Golden Pines~https://www.blogger.com/profile/02001523468339091407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5952978843847671434.post-61334102968477878232015-08-08T14:15:51.270-05:002015-08-08T14:15:51.270-05:00Love to see those caterpillars.
