This afternoon I'm picking okra and starting to dry some of it in the oven....
~
~
Isn't the red pretty? It doesn't stay this color when pickled, though, as we had hoped...
~
~
Of course, the color okra is when growing in the garden doesn't matter to these fellows...they're all painted and decked out with polymer clay! This group of "O'Kringles" is from last year, But I will have them in my Etsy shop again this fall...
~
Hope everyone is having a good week so far!

No way that this these cute Santa's are made from dried okra pods! Wow, a "recipe" for okra that I like (it is my least favorite veggie). I never knew you had an Etsy, I have to check it out. xo
ReplyDeleteIs there a link I didn't see here for the Etsy? Realized I made a typo in my comment, too. Oh well, keepin' it real! xo
ReplyDeleteOkra...now there's a hard veggie to eat.LOL I've had it breaded and deep fried..if I was to ever eat it, that's the way. But boil it and be totally grossed out. But it does look pretty just being picked. Are you saying the santa's are made from the okra being dried..if so that's they way they should be served.Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteI don't eat Okra but I do collect Santa's and I've got to get me some of the cute ones you make.
ReplyDeleteOur very favorite way to enjoy okra is "fried!" The Santas are very appealing!

ReplyDeleteAnne - I love okra and I too didn't know you have an etsy shop. Will be visiting it for sure. Love the santas - didn't know okra came in red...like beans that are purple but turn green when you cook them. Really look pretty in the garden. Xo Pixie
ReplyDeleteYour Santas are very cute:) I don't know if I'm a fan of okra or not. I've only had it in a type of soup and I wasn't quite sure what I thought of the texture.
ReplyDeleteSeriously these started as okra? The santas are so darn cute, but it would be hard for me to give up eating them to make santas. Very creative of you! So glad you shared your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – your creativity helped make the party a success!
